The University of Texas at Austin is one of the largest public universities in the U.S. and is the largest institution of The University of Texas System. Founded in 1883, the university has about 24,000 faculty and staff, and more than 50,000 students. Ours is a diverse learning community, with students from more than 100 countries and a student body that reflects the face of our society.
